Will provide European-made benches and accessories to shops with a wide range of needs and budgets.
Despite doubling its sales last year, recent changes at Canadian manufacturer/distributor Wedge Clamp Systems indicate that it isn’t about to take a breather.
Entering into a partnership with St. Louis-based Solidus Equipment Systems, one of the largest equipment suppliers in the U.S., will mean greater North American availability for Wedge Clamp products like the hot-selling Eclipse Plus laser Measuring system.
“We’ve been looking for more presence in the U.S., and that’s what we’re hoping Solidus will provide,” says Wedge Clamp President Mark Greenberg. “They’re a master distributor, with a lot of sub-distributors and salespeople reaching almost every state. They wanted an electronic measuring system they could package with their benches. Our Eclipse Plus was the answer.”
Wedge Clamp has itself just taken on distribution of the well-know European-made Celette line of autobody repair products – benches, welders, dent repair stations, lifting and pulling platforms, cutting and heating products and more. Celette’s signature European-made bench uses dedicated and universal jigs to position and precisely measure damaged vehicles before, during, and after the repair process.
Although they are widely regarded as a premium product, Greenberg intends to introduce Celette products to a wider market.
“We want to make it and other Celette products available to mainstream shops, not just those servicing luxury brands,” he says. “A Celette fixture kit can make a difference for any shop, and for any car from a Fiat 500 to a Ferrari. And partnering with a world-class bench line really expands the range and quality of our product line.
Wedge Clamp began in the 1980s as a maker of anchoring systems. The company is owned by the Craftsman Group of Companies and is based in Richmond, British Columbia.
